Music Soup Interview


Music Soup ‘s debut album “Cut To The Chase” has been chosen as The Best Greek Jazz Album of the year 2016 by both Readers Poll & Critics Poll. This is quite an achievement ! But you could tell something was happening. From the first day, the album got excellent reviews abroad and it was released by Tony Monaco, a master in the Hammond organ in jazz. Jazzonline.gr to has met Evgenia Karlafti & Nestor Dimopoulos for a little chat about this great success.


French-American singer MADELEINE PEYROUX began her career as one of the street musicians in Paris’s Latin Quarter when she was just a teenager. Last September, The Grammy-nominated vocalist’s released her eighth album Secular Hymn. She talks to Jazzonline.gr few days before her performance in Athens.


Nikolas Anadolis
is one of only 5 jazz pianists who have been awarded the Grand Prix de la Ville de Paris (=1st prize) of the prestigious Concours de piano-jazz Martial Solal in October 2010, a worldwide jazz piano contest taking place only once every 4 years. Jazzonline had the opportunity to get an interview with this very promising young musician who has already been showered with acclaim!


In a community teaming with startlingly gifted young singers, Sara Gazarek is a stand out. Walking the paths of Ella Fitzgerald, she captivates the audience and converts each live in a unique experience. On her fourth album and debut for the Palmetto label, “Blossom & Bee,” Gazarek and her band have crafted a program of emotionally expansive standards, inspired contemporary fare, and uncommonly memorable originals.
