Christos Anestopoulos

Wish You Could Stay… is the second album of Christos Anestopoulos (the first was “swinging over the surfaces“ released 2003).
You can call it Fusion Jazz but there are many ethnic influence.
Colours from Greece with lyras and outi and odd meter Greek folk tunes like “once upon a time“.
There are tunes like “Tholo“ that goes back in rock times and adolescence.
Other times mix country jazz with ethnic and rock with brass sections that they give a jazz mood.
Most of the time its a ECM style sound like the `wish you can stay…“ and “perfect no perfect“ with the sound of 12string guitar that dominates.
David Lynch is playing sax in this album (in 4 tunes) with his unique way, like the solo on wish you could stay and the intro of this tune.
