Yorgos Krommydas is one of the new rising guitarist in Greece.
His relation with music was established under the influence of his father who is an amateur violin player. Besides his education in classical music he studied modern jazz guitar and modern harmony in Athens and Amsterdam.He has been teaching at the conservatory Philipos Nakas since 2004. He has cooperate with most of the famous greek jazz musician ( George Kontrafouris, Takis Paterelis, Dimitris Tsakas, Pantelis Benetatos, Alex. Drakos Ktistakis, Antonis Andreou, Yorgos Georgiadis, Dimitris Kalantzis, Andreas Polyzogopoulos. Martha Moreleon, Loukia Paleologou, Evi Siamanta, Manos Loutas ). He was also a member of Hot Club de Grece a gipsy jazz quintet. In june 2009, he created his Organ trio and recorded his first personal album ‘Jazzium”. He is now working on a new project with his own compositions. His second personnal ablum Aggressive Thoughts was released in March 2013. In 2015, the third album was released A route through the standards.
