The International Festival of Patras hosts Djangofest for two nights at the Atrium of the Old Hospital of Patras, making reality the desire of many people!
Saturday and Sunday 14 and 15 June, the atrium of the Old Hospital of Patras will open its doors to six bands from all over Greece, for a celebration of gypsy jazz also Patras, after the great success of the festival in Athens and Thessaloniki.

Djangofest gypsy jazz festival is the amalgamation of jazz & swing arts in an event. Inspired by Django Reinhardt and his legacy, a team of musicians, dancers and crafts people get together to celebrate manouche and gypsy jazz culture. Stariting from Athens in 2010 with great sucsess it's running now for 5 years in Athens, 3 years in Thessaloniki, and for the first time this year also in Patras!

The event will be accompanied by exibition of two leading Greek luthiers, with emphasis on the construction of gypsy jazz guitar from 18.30 on Saturday and 11.30 on Sunday morning, a reference point in all djangofests since now, for the constant and tirelessjaming among the musicians participating in the festival and more!

Sunday will also be made two-hour seminar entitled "sound and way of gypsy jazz guitar" by G.Papadogianni (www.diminuita.com)

A feast for the gypsy jazz comes in Patras and promises both fully jazz, cheerful and melodic nights!

Next Athens Djangofest will be in mid September 2014!
